All About Yves

If you are in the neighborhood tomorrow—and don’t all of us wish we were—the Yves Saint Laurent Retrospective will open its doors at the Petit Palais in the City of Light. Sure to be a landmark event following the death of Yves Saint Laurent last year, the retrospective will be on view until August 29th, sure to attract addicts and fans of all sorts, and perhaps sure to keep usually vacationing Parisiens/nes in town for the last month of the summer, when they are customarily more likely to be on the Riviera. The show boasts “11 salles thematiques a decouvrir”—which translates as “11 thematic rooms to discover”. Personally, this LUXie cannot wait to see some of the best and most loved haute couture in the flesh. Don’t call it vintage: Mr. Saint Laurent would bristle at such a moniker. His clothes were made to last a lifetime.
