April 22 Preview: A Bid to Save The Earth

On April 22, Christie’s will host their second annual Earth Day Green Auction: A Bid to Save the Earth. The respected and renowned auction house will take advantage of their high caliber clientele for a chance to save the environment. Ever wanted to hit the green with Bill Clinton? Rally with John McEnroe? Or how about lunch with Vera Wang? These exclusive rendezvous are just a couple of the packages celebrities are offering. Besides celeb outings, the auction block also includes prize-winning artwork by Damien Hirst, Keith Tyson, Olafur Elasson and many others.

The best part, of course, is that all bidding sales go directly to four non-profits: Central Park Conservancy, Conservation International, Oceana, and Natural Resources Defense Council. Dedicated to the conservation of our parks, oceans and resources, the charities have the opportunity to put this environmental awareness into action.

If you can’t be in New York City for the star-studded fete, don’t fret. Charitybuzz, a charity auction Web site, will feature the collection online on April 8. For more information regarding donations, volunteer work and other ways to lend a hand for the cause, visit abidtosavetheearth.org.
