April 22: Save My Oceans tour
Oceans, a documentary film by Disneynature and Participant Media, brings viewers to new depths as they uncover never-before-seen nature at work. Save My Oceans, the nonprofit dedicated to solving ocean issues, asks fans of the film to take a pledge.
The pledge includes the following concessions in order to keep oceans clean for future generations:
- Choose reusable bottles and bags instead of plastic ones
- Eat non-endangered species (such as tuna, swordfish, flounder and shark)
- Prevent ocean temperatures from rising by reducing carbon footprint
There is an added benefit to taking the plunge for ocean pollution this April. Every person that pledges will get tickets to attend the touring concert series, which ends on April 24, put on by Save My Oceans and the Oceans team. The tour will stop at several college campuses, from California to Florida, to educate the student body on the Oceans message. The next stop for the tour is Earth Day week, from April 17-22, at UC Berkeley. The event will feature music, film and art that radiate a passion for our oceans. As well as the concert event, Participant Media and Disneynature will host a free screening of Oceans for the student body.
Take the pledge and see when the tour will be in your town, by checking out the Web site at SaveMyOceans.com.
