Barbie: Russia Pays Fashion Tribute in Moscow

Barbie fans now have something exciting to put on your radar! An exhibit of fifty designer clad Barbie dolls is currently on display in Moscow to commiserate the 50th Anniversary of this iconic toy.

Each Barbie is ‘fit for the runway,’ dressed by foreign accessory designers from around the world, including a few hand selected artists native to Russia.

Flamboyant artist Andrei Bartenev contributed a black-and-white dress that looks like a full-body Elizabethan ruff. Junko Shimada put Barbie in a headscarf and leggings made of electric-blue cellophane. Slava Zaitsev, a stalwart who gained fame during the Soviet era, dressed his doll in a black, flamenco-inspired ballgown embroidered with gold flowers. –WWD.com

It features the glamorous fashion show inspired by our FAV chic-toy!! As for this Fashion Exhibit it is held in the Cara&Co. concept store and runs through June 14th.
