Kirstie Kelly offering Signature gowns at Costco
These days, many brides are on a budget. So for your wedding dress, why not head to … Costco? The famous warehouse store is offering a new line of affordably priced handmade wedding gowns from LA bridal designer Kirstie Kelly, titled Kirstie Kelly Signature, and available exclusively at Costco. Exhibited in in-store trunk shows in select Costco locations, the six couture-inspired dress styles range in price from $650 to $1,400 – a significant discount from her original collection, priced $2,000 to $7,000.p>The styles are varied, displaying luxurious satin, silk, taffeta and lace, and embellished with crystals, flowers and pearls, with all six boasting a fully constructed bodice. Veils complete the look. Brides of all shapes and sizes will be happy to know that the dresses are offered in sizes 2 to 24.
“In today's world, many brides-to-be are paying for all or part of their weddings and are becoming very savvy about how to find a beautiful, high-quality wedding gown at an affordable price,” Kelly said in a statement. “The Kirstie Kelly Signature line offers all the splendor of finding the perfect wedding gown, but at a Costco price.”
Women will have the opportunity to check out how the dresses look on them in special changing areas with help of bridal consultants, right inside Costco stores. Online appointments are strongly recommended. See something you like? You can take it home that day. In a departure from Costco’s usual style, no buying in bulk is required.
“Kelly has a strong background in couture, and she wanted to bring that to women everywhere,” a spokeswoman told LadyLUX.
This is not the first time we've seen wedding gown designers take a step outside their niche to fulfill market needs. Remember Vera Wang for David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo for Disney Fairy Tale Weddings?
Catch the four-day trunk shows when they come near you. Currently showcasing in Torrance, the show will then head to San Bernardino (March 10 to March 13), Los Feliz (March 17 to March 20) and Van Nuys (March 24 to March 27).
