Brief Forward Glimpse at 2010

As the last few weeks of 2009 approach, there’s an air of inquiry about what the New Year will bring. For some, this might entail taking an inventory of successes of ’09, for others it might be planning on what you’d like to see happen in 2010.

Due to the continual economic shifts and developments we’ve experienced this past year, we thought you might want to know that according to an independent global association called, ‘The Conference Board’ the projections for economic conditions seem to be shifting in a positive direction.

We can look forward to continual global growth, the earth becoming more and more flat, and a continuous momentum of emerging economies. So you might be asking what does this mean for me?

Well, expect that your individual consumer power will continue to be of more and more importance. You and your purchasing power influence the direction of many economies. Becoming more conscious of what you purchase and what you support will become even more vital for the emerging economic landscape.

“Global growth will resume in 2010, with global output per head returning to pre-crisis levels,” said Bart van Ark, chief economist, The Conference Board. “Looking further out, emerging and developing economies will account for a much larger share of the global pie - as much as two-thirds by 2016. And while China will surely be a major force in the unwinding of the crisis, we’ll see other emerging markets increasingly fueling global growth.”

It also means that we’ll continue to see major shifts on a global scale concerning business and financial forces. As we can expect, China will continue to remain a dominant force in the coming year, though even their economic norms are beginning to shift towards a more consumer-driven economy.
