Celebrate: World Fair Trade Day 2009
Attention eco-LUX Fans! Today, May 9th, is a special day to celebrate our effort as a community to support ‘World Fair Trade’ practices. For the past 60 years, people and organizations from around the globe have come together to dedicate themselves to making ‘Fair Trade’ a viable solution. This year’s theme is ‘BIG BANG!!’ Meaning, take anything to make some noise and celebrate all the effort that has been a part of making this cause a worthy one! 
Fair Trade concepts are a global movement—effecting over a million small-scale producers and workers organized within 50 different countries. Events are being held all over the globe to ‘raise awareness of a fair trade solution to poverty, climate change, and economic crisis.
As the President of World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) says: “We have called it BIG BANG!! Because it is the start of a new way of thinking and living. Please do not hide in the shadows, be sure to do your part. You have the opportunity unlike any before. Be the change.
Ways you can make a difference: Attend an event in your area, spread the word to raise awareness, and buy fair trade products to show your support. In honor of today, we here at LadyLUX encourage you to commit to one ‘individual action’ that supports Fair Trade practices! Make the LUX-difference!!!
