Celebrity Handbag Auction to Raise Aid for Italy’s Earthquake Funds
LUX Nation, high-end designers and Hollywood prestige have coupled to raise awareness and funds for Italy’s recent destructive quake. This past April there was a devastating 6.3 earthquake that struck Italy in the town of L’Aquila, which took the lives of almost 300 people and left 30,000 homeless. This travesty has increased the need for funding in order to successfully sustain the rescue efforts and to support all those in need of aid.
Hollywood’s A-list team recruits includes: Jennifer Aniston, Madonna, Demi Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow, Eva Longoria Parker, Marisa Tomei, Dita Von Teese, Lily Tomlin, Lucy Liu and Debi Mazar. These Hollywood elite have contributed their autograph to generously donated Salvatore Ferragamo handbags for the cause. Each personally autographed LUX bag will be auctioned off on eBay in order to raise money for the Italy Earthquake Relief and Recovery Fund.
GlobalGiving.org is an organization that connects donors with community-based projects that need support. The Global Giving Italy Earthquake Relief and Recovery Fund focuses on various efforts to rehabilitate the Abruzzo region, which include rebuilding communities, reestablishing local markets to stimulate the local economy and delivering basic necessities such as food, blankets and clothing.
