Condé Nast debuts special edition prints
On June 29, Condé Nast announced that will start publishing special edition versions of their magazine, only available on newsstands. Glamour will be the first of the Condé Nast title to hit stands, coming out this August. Known for their “Dos and Don'ts” pages, Condé Nast hopes aiming on verticals and features will up their subscription base. Other brands by Condé will soon follow suit, such as Bon Appetit, GQ, The New Yorker and Vogue. The issues will go for a higher price point, going from $9.99 to $12.99, due to their special features and articles not available on the web. The web site, AudienceDevelopment.com, noted that special editions have been cut back by many major publishers, including Meredith, whom cut their sales back from 150 to 90 special interest magazines for the year.
