Fashion with Compassion:  2009 Cashmere Collection made with Bathroom Tissue

The Sixth Annual a href=“http://www.cashmere.ca/wcc/english/2009.php” title=“White Cashmere BT Collection of 2009” target=“_new”>White Cashmere BT Collection of 2009 was simply the best yet. Theme of the year was ‘Fashion with Compassion,’ and showcased 15 of Canada’s finest fashion designers to craft a design made solely from Cashmere Bathroom Tissue.

Yes, you heard me correctly; the designs we’ve highlighted in the gallery were made from Canada’s best-selling brand of bathroom tissue, Cashmere BT. Who knew that such remarkable works of art and fashion-forward styles could be made from bathroom tissue?! Personally, I think it’s amazing to see toilet paper ‘look’ so good and it most definitely makes me want to purchase some! It makes me a bit teary to think we don’t have access to such LUX colored tissue here in the States.

“The collection is an amazing way to celebrate the incredible courage and strength of women coping with breast cancer and support them in their fight against the disease,” says Montreal-based rising star Anastasia Lomonova. “Each one of us is an incredible, multifaceted being. We are mothers, daughters, sisters, wives and professionals who are vulnerable yet strong – feminine yet powerful,” she says.

Some of the standout designs include: Patricia Fieldwalker for Vancouver’s Adagio Lingerie with her light pink number with ruffles galore; Carlie Wong’s flirty and sexy dress design we could easily wear to a summer cocktail party; finally, Anastasia Lomonova’s modern and sophisticated dress that leaves you wanting more.

What makes this collection even more LUX is that $.25 will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation when a package of ‘Pink’ toilet tissue is sold.

The talented designers that were included in this LUX-worthy affair include: Greta Constantine; Sunny Fong, winner of Project Runway Canada; Patrice Soku, winner of TVA’s La Collection; Paul Hardy; Patricia Fieldwalker for Adagio Lingerie; Tavãn & Mitto; Farley Chatto; Anastasia Lomonova; Carlie Wong; Evan & Dean; Dinh Bà; NADA; David Dunkley for KC Hats; jewelry by Dandi Maestre and handbags by Jeanne Lottie.

This is an example of a fashion-extravaganza that embodies the LadyLUX principle of ‘good for the sake of good’! Be sure to check out the gallery above and let us know which one is your LUX FAV!
