Fashion’s Night Out 2012 event guide

It’s that time of year again. Start resting up for Fashion’s Night Out 2012! On September 6 from 6 to 11pm, join celebrities, stars, models, fashionistas and designers from New York to Los Angeles to Japan to India to celebrate the industry’s most iconic extravaganza filled with runway shows, special appearances, carnival rides and more.

In 2012, the fourth annual event designed to give global fashion sales a boost during a rough economy will continue to delight attendees with unique and exciting shopping experiences. The 2011 soiree featured affairs in 18 countries with over 4,500 events in the United States, but FNO 2012 promises an even bigger and better celebration with even more participating countries and cities, fashion-filled activities and an official collection. Take part in the worldwide fun at an event near you and, most importantly, shop like there’s no tomorrow!

New York

SoHo

C. Wonder
It would be just like C. Wonder to inject a bit of whimsy into the FNO festivities. If you’re out in Soho, keep your eyes peeled for a representative who will be passing out balloons in a variety of colors. Bring one back to the Soho store to discover what prize you win based on your color. The imaginative brand will also be teaming up with Daily Candy and editors will be making appearances at the store. Fashion’s Night Out 2012 is extra special for Piperlime as it coincides with the launch of the brand’s first store. Visit the brick-and-mortar location at 121 Wooster Street to meet Piperlime’s fashion authority Rachel Zoe and guest editor Olivia Palermo. Bergdorfs
The iconic retailer gets started early with a “Get Ready For FNO!” makeup party starting at 3:00pm. Get beautified with experts and makeup artists such as Aerin Lauder and Francis Kurkdjian, and then head over to the launch party for Sara James Mnookin’s new book, “Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf Goodman,” where you can rub elbows with Rachel Zoe, Thakoon Panichgul, Naeem Khan and many more. Also on the Bergdorf agenda, don’t miss the “Photos on Five” party hosted by BG and Tumblr. The Maybelline Color Studio Lounge invades MPD with makeovers by top artists, a custom photo studio and even a catwalk for guests to display their new looks. FNO comes to Hong Kong for the very first time this year with Lane Crawford at the helm. Though the event will only be held at Lane Crawford stores, there will be no shortage of activities. In addition to the customary cocktails, celebrity appearances and designer runway shows, the retailer will offer hand massage stations, denim origami, a tapestry workshop and more.
