Issey Miyake opens second Elttob Tep store
Issey Miyake opens the second Elttob Tep store in Tokyo’s Ginza district on Friday. Taking its name from “pet bottle” spelled backward, the store will offer a pared-down version of the brand’s signature products, reported WWD.
Merchandise available includes jeans crafted by a computer-generated pattern, Miyake’s Pleats Please line and natural nail polish, from Kyoto-based S.Ueba & Co., that is created from scallop shell powder. Customers also have the option of ordering their very own version – with colors of their choice – of the label’s Bao Bao bag, built of triangular tiles.
The store boasts a fairly different interior design. Graphic designer Taku Satoh chose to decorate the space with whitewashed walls, exposed ceiling pipes and a peculiar storefront window display that includes an old dentist chair and antique barber’s pole.
