July 19: ThinkThruFashion Accessory Swap Soiree
On July 19, ThinkThruFashion blogger Sydne Summer will be hosting the Accessory Swap Soiree at the Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills. Inspired by her ttf Fashion Staples series on her blog, Summer felt inspired to show women how to make the most of the what they have. Totally appropriate in these economic times, Summer shows in her series how to wear six items six different ways every month. The soiree became a great way to celebrate this new addition to her blog, which is reaching it’s six-month point, and preach the same message of making the most of what you have… or in this case, what your girlfriend may have. Bloggers, editors, and fashion aficionados will have the chance to trade some of their closet items with other guests, spicing up their wardrobe without the hefty pricetag.
This isn’t your typical store sale. The swap will take place at the swanky Avalon Hotel, where visitors will party poolside (did I mention Marilyn Monroe used to layout there?), getting mini-makeovers by Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics, sipping Blue Angel cocktails and munching on delicious small plates. Sydne also got some big names to help out with the event. “I was initially going to do the event at a boutique so I sent out a tweet asking if any LA shops were interested in hosting. Michael Stars showed interest and I was thrilled since the company has such great wardrobe staples,” said Summer. Due to the size of the event, they finally decided going with the iconic Beverly Hills establishment. Summer told LadyLux, “Who doesn’t love to party poolside?”
Known for his upscale cotton shirts, Micheal Stars will be hosting a discounted pop-up shop during the event, where guests will get a sneak peek of his summer collection at amazing prices. A bargain at every corner, the ThinkThruFashion event doesn’t request shelling out the dough… except when it counts. Mariska Hargitay’s Joyful Heart Foundation will be raffling prizes with 100 percent of the proceeds benefitting the charity.
If you’re planning on coming to the event, remember to bring three to five accessories to swap (ie. watches, scarves, hats, handbags, belts and sunglasses).
