Stylist Kate Young for Target Collection
Target has targeted famed celebrity stylist Kate Young for an exclusive collaboration, Kate Young for Target, reported WWD. Consisting of a special edition range of semiformal and special-occasion dresses, separates and accessories, the collection will be sold April 14 through May 2 at Target stores and online at Target.com. Prices are slightly higher than the low-priced superstore chain’s usual: $29.99 to $89.99 for apparel and $14.99 to $49.99 for jewelry, handbags and shoes.
Target will celebrate the launch with a Spring Formal-themed affair on April 9, held at a former high school gymnasium in New York. The gym will be pepped up with disco balls, streamers, ice sculptures and more in a prom-like decoration scheme and the line will be available for purchase at a classroom-style pop-up shop. A prom court will boast ensembles from the contemporary and versatile collection and Michelle Williams, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Debby Ryan will put in an appearance.
Launching her career at Vogue magazine, Young boasts some serious credentials as one of the most premier stylists in the industry. Her work includes assisting Anna Wintour; styling celebrities such as Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Jennifer Connolly, Rachel Weisz and more; consulting and styling for Jason Wu, Derek Lam, Nina Ricci, Peter Som, Yigal Azrouël and Vena Cava; and being named in The Hollywood Reporter’s top 25 list of most powerful stylists.
