Like Father, Like Daughter: Kate Falchi to Design with Her Father, Carlos Falchi
The Falchi family must breed designer talent. Kate Falchi, daughter of famous designer Carlos Falchi, has recently joined forces with her father to design her first collection to debut today, September 10. Not to mention, she has taken a full time gig designing under the label with her new associate designer title!!
“It was very natural for me,” said Carlos Falchi of collaborating with his daughter. He met his wife, Missy Falchi, when she worked in public relations at Neiman Marcus, and she now runs the workshop. The couple has another daughter, Juliet, who works in product development at Estée Lauder Cos. Inc.
Showcasing at Bergdorf Goodman, this ‘Graffiti Collection’ takes Carlos Falchi’s signature tiger snake bags and adds a twist. Each customized and individual, this graffiti line will include three hand-made designs!! One will take a traditional graffiti-urban approach using a camouflage pattern, one will have a bleeding heart pattern and last, a rose inspired ‘ink-esque’ design. The hand-designed bags are made one at a time in the Falchi’s Manhattan studio!! Taking custom and LUX to a whole new level!!
In total, there will be six handbag designs, three of which will be handcrafted!! The exclusive line will also feature smaller complementary leather accessories. Expect retail prices to range from $395 to $1,195.
