Luxury hotel package benefits American Heart Association

What better way to spend Valentine’s Day then by giving a heart? A healthy one, that is. Luxury hotel The New York Palace is unveiling its educational “Have a Heart” program by inviting guests to indulge in sumptuous accommodations and enjoy their Heart-Healthy weekend brunch and specialty red cocktail. Throughout the amorous month of February, the entire hotel will be transformed to reflect the awareness-raising campaign.

“With Valentine’s Day approaching, we were interested in doing something different this year at The New York Palace … With so much talk of love, this month just seemed like a perfect opportunity to bring attention to the American Heart Association’s initiatives, and we are really excited about working with them. It’s going to be a lot of fun for our guests, with all the special offerings in our ‘Have a Heart’ program, but it will also bring the focus on a very serious issue - making sure our hearts stay healthy,” David Chase, The New York Palace’s general manager, said to LadyLUX.

Based on the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women campaign, the hotel will highlight the famed red dress symbol throughout the hotel. The courtyard will be decked out in attention-grabbing images of red dresses, projected onto the hotel’s exterior. All staff members sported a Go Red For Women signature red dress pin on Feb. 3, National Wear Red Day.

“Our goal is to get the public and our guests to ‘see red’ during the month of February, with reminders about heart health all over the hotel … The more we can incorporate the AHA’s messages of heart health within the walls of the Palace, the better chance we have that women and the men who care about them will be empowered to change their lives when they go home and that they’ll continue to support the work of the AHA,” Chase declared.

For each guest that participates, the Palace will make a donation to the American Heart Association. The Go Red For Women program was designed to educate the public, in particular generating awareness that heart disease is the number one killer of women. The red dress motif symbolizes the passionate social initiatives needed to empower women to take control of their heart health.

The hotel’s restaurant will celebrate the event by offering a tantalizing Heart-Healthy brunch, with dishes such as whole grain pancakes with blueberries and low-fat yogurt, egg white frittata, and steel cut oatmeal with fresh berries.

For guests looking to indulge, the Red Ruffle – a special cocktail made with Chambord, champagne and pomegranate juice – will be offered at the hotel’s GILT Bar.

The special “Have a Heart” Package provides luxury guest room accommodations, a $100 daily voucher for food and beverages, two welcome cocktails (red wine or the Red Ruffle) and a commemorative Go Red For Women red dress pin. Packages start at $359 per night.

“A company, especially a company in the hospitality industry, is really about serving people,” Chase explained. “Our guests come from all over the world with different experiences and life stories. Our goal at The New York Palace is to offer exceptional service and that includes ensuring that we touch the lives of our guests – past, present, and future. Everyone has women in their life who are dear to them, which is why heart health is something that affects every one of us.”

Combining old-world elegance and new-world luxury, The New York Palace boasts 805 rooms and 88 suites in its landmark Villard Mansion and modern 55-story tower. Situated in the center of Manhattan, the hotel features luxurious rooms with stunning views.

“With all The New York Palace’s proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association during February, it’s the perfect time to experience the hotel,” the manager said. “Participating in our ‘Have A Heart’ initiative is as easy as enjoying the amenities and special events that we’ve put together for the occasion … It’s a vacation that you won’t have to feel guilty about, because you’ll know that you’re helping change the lives of millions of women.”

Although heart disease is mostly preventable, one out of every three women in the United States dies of the ailment.
