Mark & James launch handbags

Mark Badgley and James Mischka started Mark & James in 2009 as a means to reach a new, more price-conscious consumer. The brand doesn’t trade out their luxury style, but does offer a very affordable price tag. The line, which includes apparel and footwear, has now added another item: handbags.

“Mark & James has become such a strong business that we really wanted to complement the collection,” Badgley said, according to Women’s Wear Daily.

Franchi Handbags, the maker of Badgley Mischka’s collection and couture, is licensing the 35 styles, which range from $150 to $300.

Mark & James is meant for the stylish woman on the go: Knits take the place of leather and the classic, polished Badgley Mischka look gets a little rough around the edges.
