May 27: Strut for a Cure

Strut for a Cure, a fashion show with proceeds benefiting children’s cancer research, will celebrate their second event on May 27 in Toronto. Started last year by Coco Rocha’s cousin Erika, the support from her supermodel connection and the nonprofit Coast-to-Coast Against Cancer gave the event the awareness it needed to succeed.

The fashion fiesta will be a who’s who of Canadian fashion. Coco Rocha, considered one of the top supermodels in the world and a Toronto native , will strut her stuff for a cause. Also, great DJs and the electro-pop band Dragonette will get people in the mood to grove for charity. Todd Lynn, a designer best known for dressing rock stars such as Bono and Courtney Love, will debut his new collection – a mix of his signature androgyny, sharp lines and sexy leather.

Coco Rocha is very passionate about the cause and said, “Around the world so many families and children are affected by cancer. The stories I’ve personally heard have moved me to do my best to raise both awareness and funds. Working closely with The Coast-To- Coast Against Cancer foundation, our special event – Strut For A Cure – will combine fashion and music in a spectacular way on May 27th.” The famed fashion model went on to say, “Not only that but it will bring together all like minded individuals who want to help support this worthy cause. This is something very dear to my heart and I’m so excited to see you there.”

If you’re in Canada this May, donate $95 for a ticket to a great event for an even greater cause. Their site reveals, “More children die of cancer each year than asthma, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, congenital anomalies and pediatric AIDS combined”. The best part? One hundred percent of your ticket goes to pediatric cancer research.
