Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week releases designer lineup for Spring 2012
This fall, hundreds of thousands of the fashion elite will converge at New York City’s Lincoln Center from Sept. 8 to 15 to view the Spring 2012 collections of top and emerging designers during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. But who, in particular, will they be turning out to see? LadyLUX has the latest about who’s in and who’s out for the eight days of shows: IMG Fashion has announced the lineup.
“New York City is the fashion capital of the world, and from September 8 to 15, Lincoln Center will become the heartbeat of the city,” Peter Levy, senior vice president and managing director of IMG Fashion, said in a statement. “Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, the city’s single largest media event, is proud to offer some of the biggest names in fashion, as well as young and emerging talent, an unsurpassed platform to debut their Spring 2012 Collections.”

As always, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will present quite a few up-and-coming designers who will showcase their work for the first time at Lincoln Center. This year, that roster includes Candela, EMERSON, Falguni Peacock, Pink Tartan, Honor, Rafael Cennamo, Katya Leonovich, VLOV and J.Crew.
“This season’s diverse lineup of designers is a testament to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and Lincoln Center’s ability to create a world stage for the fashion industry to showcase everyone from the well-established brands to the future stars,” Lisa Holladay, manager of brand experience marketing for Mercedes-Benz USA, said in a statement. “The scope and support of the event continues to evolve and with it comes new opportunities and benefits for those involved.”
Designers will present their collections to likely more than 100,000 visitors in Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park – located between West 62nd and 65th streets and Columbus and Amsterdam avenues – occupying three runway venues, plus the Theatre, Stage and Studio.
