Miami Swim Fashion Week 2012: Sonia Vera Swimwear
Known for stunning silhouettes, luxurious fabrics and seductive styles, Sonia Vera held up her reputation with the debut of her fifth collection, Resort Getaway 2012, at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Model-turned-designer Vera created a line based on a tranquil color palette of serene blues and calming earth tones.
Ethereal shades of dusty pinks and clean neutrals kicked off the show as models strutted down the catwalk in swimsuits with plunging necklines, asymmetrical bandeaus and strappy halters. Every piece draped the body beautifully, flattering the figure while also showcasing the high-quality material used.

Rich teals, blues and greens dominated the show’s middle, which featured sleek suits with alluring, form-fitting designs and brilliant metalwork. Perfect for the modern-day Bond girl, each piece exhibited a strong, sexy, go-getter look.

Vera showed off her eye for detail with hand-dyed laces, feather prints and flowing silk chiffons, appearing in delicate cover-ups and separates. Each model rocked loose, wavy locks, with a few wearing tropical headpieces, fitting well with the collection’s “luxury castaway” theme.
