New website Tailored helps brides plan big day

Planning a wedding can be thrilling yet exhausting. And you want things your way. Newly launched website Tailored understands. Offering a new way to shop and plan a wedding, the site is the first online destination that offers prospective brides the ideal products and services to make their special day fit their pocketbook and live up to their dreams.

“Brides really have no clue where to find the things they love, or even where to begin the planning process,” Sara Morgan, co-founder of Tailored, said. “We wanted to give brides a personal shopper to hold their hand every step of the way and be able to personalize the shopping experience to each individual bride’s needs and wants. We also noticed that while there are sites out there where you can get inspired, it can be frustrating to find things you love and not be able to find where to buy them. Tailored is where beautiful content and commerce finally come together.”

Wedding planners can discover inspiration, peruse handpicked items, make lists of their must-have picks, and then share their lists with family and friends.

Brides fill out a simple quiz to determine their preferences. The site then generates customized recommendations of their ideal products and services depending on their expressed taste, budget, position in the planning cycle and other factors. The more users play around on the site, the more their preferences are revealed. Each time a bride adds an item to her list, makes a comment, likes or dislikes a piece or follows another user, the site is able to learn more about her taste and the recommendations become even more personalized.

“Shopping for (a) wedding is an emotional, personal experience and we believe that there is nowhere online currently where brides have a true personalized experience online shopping for their wedding,” Morgan said. “There is a social element on Tailored that is lacking on other sites as well.”

Offerings are based on information from brides on what products they want most. By collecting user data, Tailored is able to determine future products and forecast trends.

Many sites offer the chance find inspiration, but Tailored offers inspiration combined with the ability to buy. All items are available for purchase in just two simple clicks. Planners can unearth new brands and emerging designers. With more than 160 affiliates, Tailored boasts the largest wedding catalog available on the Internet, with brands such as Macy’s, Bloomingdales, The Knot, Sandals Resorts and more.

Beyond personalized suggestions, the members-only site allows users to follow others with similar style and interact with family and friends to receive instant feedback. The site targets not just brides but bridesmaids, wedding guests and anyone else involved in the big day.

“My co-founder, Aaron and I, are extremely passionate about creating a business that is going to change the way people shop and disrupt an industry that, in our opinion, is long overdue for some innovative change!” Morgan revealed.

Stay tuned for possible future sites on other life cycles, such as marriage, home and baby.
