Nordstrom livestreams Jason Wu

Marking its first attempt at livestreaming, Nordstrom will display Jason Wu’s runway show live, streaming the show to its website. In honor of the event, the designer’s mood boards are exhibited on social media, a Q&A with Wu has been posted, and the department store will be sending out quite a number of tweets, reported WWD.

“Jason makes truly exciting clothes for all different types of women of all different ages. He’s become a really strong partner for us. We’re totally behind Jason Wu, period, end of subject,” Jeffrey Kalinsky, executive vice president of designer merchandising at Nordstrom, said to WWD.

Nordstrom is also unveiling a digital advertising campaign, displaying its designer lines on Style.com, wmag.com and vanityfair.com. Captured by Ezra Petronio and featuring models Malgosia Bela and Arlenis Sosa, a digital lookbook is also exhibited on the retailer’s website.

The images are intended to showcase fashion in motion with models shown in two-part frames with their heads and torsos moving separately. Designers included are Gucci, Lanvin, Valentino, Oscar de la Renta, Emilio Pucci, Mary Katrantzou, Nicholas Kirkwood and Jimmy Choo.

“Every season, the participants change a little,” Kalinsky said.
