NYFW S/S 14: Handbag Trends

New York Fashion Week brought two, key bag trends to the S/S 14 runways: bleached pinks and new geometry. Both the muted colors and dramatic silhouettes are a new look in accessories this season. Come see the two trends up close and personal.

The bleached pink bag trend is taking over the runways. It is the perfect pop of color off the monochromatic white and red trends. The ultra soft pinks are romantic and soothing. Pink is the new, warm neutral shade for leather bags. Both Alice + Olivia and Karen Walker used a fabric blocking look in their bags. Channel your softer side this spring with a bleached pink bag.

Along with the bleached pink trend, there is a new silhouette on the runways. New geometry is all about sleek, angular cut corners and flaps. Bags will portray origami-like folds and trapeze shapes. BCBGMAXAZRIA and Rebecca Minkoff chose to use metal embellishments to add to the geometical details. The dramatic shapes and prints add depth to your overall style. Go simple, clean and bold.
