Poshmark offers online shopping parties directly to your iPhone
The mobile fashion marketplace, Poshmark.com has announced the launch of “Showrooms” to further the real-time shopping experience during its Posh Parties.
Founded in 2011, Poshmark.com has experienced a rapid business growth because of its new e-commerce platform, Posh Parties. Posh Parties currently offers the Showroom feature within the real time shopping parties which filter and curate items posted within the party streaming the images in real-time directly to shoppers’ phones. Through Poshmark, fashion lovers can meet up on the iPhone app to shop, share their style and get inspired by others.
“Posh Parties represent the next frontier for real-time commerce,” said Manish Chandra, founder and CEO of Poshmark. “Our marketplace is constantly alive with women listing, socializing and sharing within the app. Showrooms take this one step further allowing women across America to engage in real-time, curated shopping excitement without ever having to leave their living rooms.”
These shopping parties hosted by Poshmark users allow you to buy and sell apparel and accessories. You can attend a virtual shopping party anytime and anywhere, selling items from your own closet right from your iPhone.
The unique idea of Posh Parties enables thousands of women to gather on their iPhone app and shop each other’s closets for a two-hour period. The shopping parties have pre-determined themes such as “Sequins, Sparkle & Shine” and designer-themed parties offering high-end brands such as Chanel, Gucci, Rebecca Minkoff and Michael Kors. Poshmark’s first Posh Party drew in fifty listings from the fashion community. Today, Posh Parties experience up to 15,000 listings per party and multiple parties being thrown each day. With just a few clicks, you can shop with confidence and connect with others in the Poshmark community. Poshmark promises all shoppers that each piece of fashion is 100 percent genuine.
Within in each Posh Party, shoppers can access the three different showrooms by simply swiping left or right to enter and view “What’s New,” first-time listed items at a party, “Designers,” designer items only and “Host Picks,” items curated in real-time by the party host. With this new feature, Poshmark is enabling product discovery by simplifying the connection between buyers and hot items.
The concept of Showrooms has the power to open up this mobile-based market by giving new fashionistas and more established brands the opportunity to host parties and captivate a mobile audience that is ready to shop at home, at work or on the go. To celebrate this launch, Poshmark has partnered with fashion blogger Anh Sundstrom of 9to5Chic and other influential bloggers.
