PFW: John Galliano and Givenchy S/S 14

John Galliano and Givenchy’s S/S 14 collections graced the runways in two very different lights. One collection was sporty and structured while the other had a more relaxed feel. Both collections were rich in colors and style. Come see more of our favorite looks from Paris Fashion Week.

John Galliano’s spring woman is taking a cue from sporty styles. She might be wearing the trending fit-and-flare dress, but it’s in a playful swiss dot fabric. The looks are sharp and sleek. Trousers were cropped at the ankles and printed in bold colors. Jackets and shoulders were boxy and dramatic. Thick belts and thin contrasting trims accentuated the high waist. Soak up the sporty sleek style with Galliano’s bright color palette of electric tangerine, bright lemon and fuchsia.

Givenchy’s collection was a step off the trail into a luxurious, unknown culture. Dresses were layered and draped across the body, creating simple textures. Embroidery and ethnic prints covered the front of looks, for a rustic vibe. Each piece was enriched in its own culture, even masks portrayed the collection in a different light. The earth brown, black and copper fabrics came to life through Givenchy’s detailed craftsmanship.
