Harper’s Bazaar to open Style Suite at the Willow Club

Harper’s Bazaar, the premiere women’s fashion magazine, plans to launch a Style Suite at the new Willow Club in New York, a private club that has just opened at The Shoreham Hotel in midtown Manhattan.

Since the pull of fashion is most acute in the fall—what with all those fabulous new shoes, boots and handbags—the timing couldn’t be more perfect for a place such as this. And this season the trends are over-the-top fabulous: Exotic skins are in again, as seen in the crocodile sling-back loafer at Rochas or the crocodile hinge bag from Versace. Bright colors stand out through signature orange bags at Hermes or suede purple platforms with tassels at Oscar de la Renta; ladylike touches abound in bows on shoes and bags from Prada and Valentino. As always, the choices are just too numerous to list.

The Style Suite will help women whittle it all down. Officially, it opens its doors on Oct. 8, but a pre-opening event—by invitation only—will be held this Tuesday, Oct. 5, for media members and VIPs to see the goods before the masses descend. Fendi is the official partner for the kickoff day.

Located on the main floor of The Shoreham, the Style Suite will offer a revolving display of Harper’s Bazaar-edited merchandise, most of which appears in the magazine’s current issue. Items may be purchased with the help of a Willow Club Style Suite concierge directly from the display or through the brand’s personal shoppers. The Style Suite will bring the best fashion, accessories and stylish amenities to Willow Club members. What’s more, it will play host to complimentary special events, including Friday and Saturday evening makeup touch-ups, blow-outs, and fashion advice from top stylists—available exclusively to members.

John Yoon, president of Willow Club, concurs on the ability of the club, plus the editorial power behind it, to bring the newest and best trends to those who are a part of their unique experience.

Tomorrow night’s event is an exclusive party and a chance to shop the U.S. debut of the Fall collection, and although it is invite-only, the magazine will also hold exclusive designer trunk shows in the near future for Willow Club members. Members will also be able to attend a variety of fashion events, from runway shows to in-store events and private dinners.
