Radar: Last Night at CFDA Awards

The who’s who of fashion came together last night to honor the winners of the 2010 Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center. The future location of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Lincoln Center was busting at the seams with some of the most successful designers in the world. Presented by fashion-forward celebs, such as Jessica Biel, Sarah Jessica Parker and Anna Wintour, took a moment to honor the names behind their infamous red carpet ball gowns or stylish paparazzi shots.

Many big names walked away with awards, but to name a few… Marc Jacobs received top honors with his win as Menswear Designer of the Year (presented by Jessica Biel). His menswear friend, Michael Kors, didn’t fall short of recognition when he received the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, brought to him by none-and-only Anna Wintour. As previously speculated, Sarah Jessica Parker said a few words about her late friend and fashion designer, Alexander McQueen, who was given the Board of Directors’ Special Tribute Award.

Swarovski, the sponsor of the wonderful fashion feté, also honored three designers with their award which recognizes emerging talent. Jason Wu was one of these special three, winning The Swarovski Award for Womenswear. Each winner not only gets their name on stand, but a generous contribution from the company and a partnership with the crystal empire.
