Radar: UK designer teams up with Anthropologie

Eley Kishimoto is known in Londontown for bold animal-inspired and geometric prints. The fashion designers, Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto, are no strangers to collaborations. They’ve worked with some of the biggest names in the industry such as Marc Jacobs, Jill Sander, Alexander McQueen, and Louis Vuitton. Their creative flair has gone beyond beautifully printed fabrics and expanded into categories usually left unmarked by the fashion elite such as automotive design, technology, and architecture. The dynamic duo have decided to take a step further and launch their brand, EK Jam Factory, in collaboration with Anthropologie for their flagship opening in London. The capsule collection will hit U.S. and UK stores this spring 2010, as well as online.

Mark Eley told Vogue UK, “The quality and intimacy that has already been discovered with this collaboration, shows that Anthropologie is a company with integrity at its heart.”

The collection incorporates Eley Kishimoto’s eye for attention-getting prints but keeps in mind Anthropologie’s vintage and whimsy vibe. Some of the pieces are now available online (even for American shoppers!) and they seem very fit for a late night bay cruise or brunch in Nantucket.
