Generally a trial run for the Oscars, fashion picks are often more relaxed for the Screen Actors Guild Awards, but the red carpet did not disappoint! Unexpected bold colors, classic black gowns and hues of blue took center stage as there was no shortage of glamour from our favorite leading ladies. Here are some of our favorite looks of the evening:

Bold & Bright

Dresses in bold and bright hues like hot pink and ravishing red flooded the red carpet. Nina Dobrev flaunted her Elie Saab pink structured dress with side cut-outs and matching belt, Jessica Chastain got glam in her red satin Alexander McQueen gown that hugged her slim figure, while Freida Pinto rocked a fuchsia Roland Mouret number with draped neck and black belt.

Metallic Mavens

Unpredicted glitz and glamour hit the carpet with metallic-covered gowns. Golden girl Jennifer Garner shined in a strapless gold sequined gown by Oscar de la Renta, Jenna Fischer dazzled in a Jenny Packham dark sheer dress adorned with patches of silver sequins and Helen Hunt glittered in a Romona Keveza sparkling gunmetal gown.

True Blue

The classic yet daring color of navy rocked the red carpet with figure-hugging silhouetted dresses. Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence made viewers swoon over her Christian Dior Couture dress, Nicole Kidman stood out in her sequined navy gown by Vivienne Westwood while Amanda Seyfried created drama with her Zac Posen mermaid gown with sweetheart neckline.

Ice Princesses

As the winter months fizzle out, actresses are still displaying their snow queen and ice princess attire at awards shows. Kerry Washington was white hot in her Rodarte dress with backside lace ruffles, Naomi Watts let her natural beauty come through in her Marchesa strapless gown with intricate beading and winner Sofia Vergara wowed viewers with her one-shoulder white satin gown from Donna Karan.

Black Beauties

These three ladies pumped up basic black gowns to another level for their red carpet appearance. Kelly Osbourne looked fierce in her Jenny Packham short-sleeved dress with Art Deco beading, winner Tina Fey kept it classy and simple in her metallic belted Oscar de la Renta gown and Clea Duvall glitters in a goddess gown by Gomez-Garcia with a crystal-beaded bodice.
