The 7th Annual Ocean Film Fest in San Francisco

Ocean lovers rejoice!

The 7th annual Ocean Film Fest launches today in San Francisco, CA and will run through Sunday. If you find yourself in the Bay Area, be sure to stop in and check out some of the short films at Pier 39. You won’t be disappointed!

There are about 50 films that will be showcased this week and many fun opportunities to meet the directors of these films. The tickets can be purchased for the whole event VIP style, or for each individual program that you wish to attend. They have the films grouped together in particular ‘genres’ or program themes, 12 to be exact.

Tonight will kick off the film affair with Program 1 featuring 4 delightful films that start at 8 pm! Including a ‘Save the Whales’ feature that talks about the treatment of whales and the scientific communities stance on the issue for the continued health of our planet. Emmy Award-winning cinematographer Gavin Newman was a part of the Greenpeace crew who helped in this film.

Wednesday and Thursday evenings feature a specific program and set of films that can be purchased completely with the whole film package or individually. Starting Friday through Sunday, there will be a whole-day affair of several programs and featured films with one-on-one talks and a meet and greet with many of the documentary filmmakers.

To find out about the entire program, visit oceansfilmfest.org. Here you can purchase your tickets in advance (for VIP packages only), gain directions and also purchase set parking passes which will allow you to enjoy the complete program uninterrupted! Expect the whole event, plus VIP service to be about $183 total, while the individual programs run less and can be purchased about an hour before any of the programs begin.

As you can see, this Ocean Film Fest is definitely a powerful way to stay connected and gain inspiration for how you can take part in sustaining the health of our Oceans and Our Planet! One film that we’re really excited about is ‘The Cove’ which has won several awards for its complete view on the dolphins and how they’ve been treated. This film has truly uncovered one of the greatest hidden tragedies and is aimed at making this treatment of animals no longer a possibility.

The passion, drive and information these 50+ films offer will educate, invigorate and invoke awareness beyond where you stand today. We invite you to please support this worthy event and be a part of preserving our oceans! If you’re in the San Francisco area and do attend, please stop by and share with us your experience!
