Threadless and Havaiana’s Flip-Flop Challenge

On March 15, Havaianas and Threadless.com came together for the ultimate design collaboration. In honor of the 10th anniversary of Threadless.com, the Brazilian flip-flop manufacturer and design website are hosting the footwear challenge, “Threadless Loves Havaianas”.

This July, six designs will be chosen to decorate Havaiana’s limited edition sandals and sold for $28 on the website. Two designs will be chosen from original contestant artwork and four from Threadless archives. Plus, the two lucky artists will walk away with $10,000 in awards!

Want more than a pair of sandals? Threadless.com also plans to spread the six images on t-shirts.

Although Threadless is more well known for their tap in the tee industry, they’re very excited to step foot in the new fashion venture. James Anstley, Director of Marketing at Havaianas, said, “Threadless.com and Havaianas both value creativity, cutting edge design and easy going style making this partnership a perfect union.” Added Jake Nickell, co-founder of Threadless.com, “We’re bringing the talent of the Threadless design community to footwear fashion.”

Known as “the best rubber flip flop in the world”, the partnership is a stellar opportunity to combine Havaiana’s brand recognition with the Threadless.com mission of opening the door for great new artists and designers.
