World Luxury Association names top 100 luxury brands

The results are in. Beijing’s World Luxury Association has declared the top 100 most valuable luxury brands around the globe, reported Fashion United. Known as the “Luxury Oscar Awards,” the awards draw from leading brands in fields ranging from aircraft, yachts and cars to jewelry, watches, fashion, liquor, cosmetics, resorts and Innovation brands.

Fashion labels that scored a place in the top 100 include Hermes, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Ferragamo, Versace, Prada, Fendi, Giorgio Armani and Ermenegildo Zegna.

Despite China’s steep luxury spending, merely one Chinese luxury company made the list.

China’s high-end consumer market continues to experience rapid growth. The World Luxury Association's official 2012 report demonstrates the Asian country has earned the place as the biggest consumer of luxury goods worldwide. Considering the RMB appreciation and depreciation of the Euro, together with the high amount of Chinese travelers to Europe, the report expects that China’s consumption of high-end items will hit nearly $77 billion, a new high. As Chinese shoppers drop vast sums of cash while shopping abroad, China will emerge as the most powerful luxe consumer-buying country internationally.

The Most Valuable Luxury Top 100 is created based on the high-end labels’ international influence, market share, shopper feedback and other composite scores.

Focused on global luxury markets, brand management, market research, brand intellectual property protection, consumer arbitration, trade promotion and government affairs, the World Luxury Association is the largest luxury brands research and management international nonprofit in the world.
