Today’s feature is the lovely Monica from Classy & Fabulous. When she’s not busy penning her fashion blog or creating art, this Houston native is spending time with her two adorable dogs.

LadyLUX: What is your preferred type of art?

Monica: I love everything from barococo to modern but my favorite has to be Impressionist and Post-Impressionist

LL: When did you start sketching and why?

M: I was an only child for 11 years so I had to be creative to keep myself entertain! Drawing and painting was one of the rare things that I never got bored with!

LL: Explain your personal relationship with fashion?

M: I have ALWAYS loved fashion. When I was younger my grandma was a fashion and beauty guru, she had a closet full of amazing clothes and beautiful jeweler. I use to play inside her closet and dream to one day have my own amazing collection of clothes. During my teen years I search for my own personal style, I as many girls do during this time of our life. During this time I learned fashion is more that clothes. Fashion can be good for the soul; when you pick the right outfit that enhances your natural beauty, it empowers you! Also I learn to appreciate high fashion and couture. The way each garment is made is a true art for! To see a simple idea on a sketch come to life is true magic. I am basically a simple girl who is a big fan of the art of fashion!

LL: What’s your current style obsession?

M: Vintage! From the 1920s till the 1960s

LL: What is it that you love about animals? What animals do you have?

M: I love that no matter what, you can always find unconditional love from your pets. At least that has been my experience. I have 2 dogs, a 13 year old schnoodle who I consider my first born child name Bambo and a 4 year old miniature schnauzer who is our little princess name Sicily
