Drew Barrymore gets vampy in Neiman Marcus’ advertising campaign

Movie star Drew Barrymore has been tapped to star in the fall advertising campaign for Neiman Marcus, which will be shot by renowned photographer Norman Jean Roy, reported WWD.

This campaign marks the second time that the luxury department store has featured a celebrity in its advertising – Jennifer Jason Leigh was the first – since the start of its “Art of Fashion” promotion in 1994.

“The shoot tells the story of a star’s transformation and Ms. Barrymore had a strong hand in the execution, even down to having a point of view on hair styling,” Eddie Nunns, vice president of Neiman Marcus brand creative, said to WWD. “She’s a powerful, modern woman with trans-generational appeal.”

Her hair flaming red, Barrymore appears in the ads reading a script while settled in a director’s chair or reclining on the hood of a beat-up car – wearing, of course, Neiman’s luxurious fashions from designers such as Akris and Valentino.

The ads will grace the September issues of many high-profile fashion magazines, including Vogue, Vanity Fair and W, and will make a digital appearance on iPads in conjunction with Vanity Fair.
