Gottex has New Head of Design: Molly Grad
LUX-Swimwear fans rejoice! Gottex, the premier Israeli swimwear company has enlisted talented London-based designer, Molly Grad.
Capitalizing on her ‘roots’ growing up in coastal Tel Aviv, Grad is quite familiar with the beachwear lifestyle and the powerful influence Gottex has in this arena.
“To me, Gottex is one of the only swim and beachwear brands that is very fashion-forward, so it’s exciting for me to create something new with that level of fashion awareness,” Grad said. “It has this amazing heritage. I can take the DNA of the brand and give it a fresh direction [without forsaking] the incredible background.”
Grad has quite an impressive background, studying under luminaries like Lars Nilsson, Tommaso Aquilano, Roberto Rimondi, Stefano Pilati, and Stella McCartney. She credits her ‘fashion vision’ to these talented designers whom she has had the opportunity to work with and be mentored by!!
Her approach for Gottex is to explore what the modern woman desires from swimwear and what she’s looking to invest into such an important style statement. Grad plans to translate her designs for swimwear into a ‘whole wardrobe’ approach!
She says her collection will be ‘chic, fashion-conscious and subtly sexy,’ which blends well with the Gottex reputation for vivid prints and embellishments.
Definitely intriguing and worth-a sneak-peak, right LUXies?!? Well, you won’t have to wait much longer—come September 14th, at the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week, she’ll unveil her artistic renderings for her up and coming collection!!
