The collection was inspired by Mother Nature, specifically the four elements of water, air, earth and fire. Water in all its reincarnations, from ice and bubbles to snow and waves, influenced the 30-piece line. Priced about $420 to $5,840, the jewelry is crafted of sterling silver, 9- and 18-karat gold, crystal, and white and champagne diamonds.
“We created four stories, and we want to explore nature. We decided to do the collection year after year based on one of these stories,” Anne Kazuro, Lalique’s creative director of jewelry, said to WWD.
Lalique has an extensive history in the jewelry field. The brand’s founder, René Lalique, first experimented with jewelry in the 1880s, fashioning pieces of glass and precious gems.
“It’s a daring and fascinating collection — it’s for younger women,” said Kazuro. “It’s the story, not just the product. It’s how we display the product in the boutique, it’s the 360-degree way it will enter the market.”
The collection will be sold at the label’s flagships in Paris, London and New York.
