LUX Profiles: Cindy Crawford, Only Gets Better with Age

As time marches on, so do the typical and unfortunate effects of aging on most women’s bodies—well, not so for the lovely and genetically blessed Cindy Crawford. At the age of 43, the mother of two is radiating in the April issue of Allure magazine.

Women have adored this brainy girl next door since her mid-west discovery and have followed her career every step of the way. Crawford was not just any beauty in the ‘80s and ‘90s; she was one of the elite models of her time. Historic. Iconic. Legendary. Some would even say, a Thoroughbred of women.

When I was a teenager, she inspired me. Inspired me to fall in love with the worlds of fashion, beauty, and fitness. Basically, she made being a pre-teen in 1992 pretty awesome!

Through Cindy Crawford, the woman, the model, and the brand—I was introduced to a beautiful world that somehow played a part in where I am today. If it wasn’t for her being discovered at the age of 16 in DeKalb, Illinois, I would have never been able to love her and her products just as so many teenage girls did growing up. And maybe, just maybe, I would not have found my voice in the way that I did.

It’s been a long time since we’ve heard from our beloved cat-walking icon. Today, Crawford stuns with her beauty—her body is better than ever and so is her attitude. She opens up in the April issue of Allure and shares her beauty secrets, musings on life, and just gets real.

So for all you children of the ‘80s and ‘90s who adored the supreme gazelles that elegantly walked the shows in Paris and Milan—graced the covers of our favorite magazines—and gave us something to aspire too, share your most treasured memories below of when you consciously came into fashion during the reign of the stunning Cindy Crawford.
