LUX Profiles: Nicole Richie
Charmed since birth: A mother, an icon of fashion and pop, famous and infamous alike, and has a rock legend for a father. Ms. Richie has lived a dizzyingly full 27 years and has enough stories as the old mother who lived in the shoe had children.
This woman really lives. Today she is not only mother to Harlow, expecting another, partner in crime to Joel Madden, front man for Good Charlotte, and what I think is truly great about this couple is that they not only play together in life, but they do good together as well.
The couple just created the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation, which supports children and helping mothers in need. They couple believes in being actively involved and taking a hands on approach in their efforts to make real change.
Currently Ms. Richie is working on her vintage inspired jewelry and accessories line, aptly named, House of Harlow. Named after daughter Harlow, and driven by the ‘60s, Nicole has had her hands in every piece of the line from treasure hunting for material sourcing to collaborating on designs—this girl does it all.
Oh, and if all of this doesn’t seem like a busy enough schedule, let’s not forget to mention that the Glam Chic is doing a great job a pursing her new love, acting. The girl who loves to laugh and make us laugh has recently been involved with Chuck and Gossip Girl. Way to go Ms. Richie—Keep up the good work!
