LUX-Review: Highlights from the Copenhagen Sustainable 2009 Conference

Leading the way towards a sustainable future, last week the ‘Copenhagen Design Week’ convention featured ‘designs for a changing world’ aimed to bring some of Denmark’s most influential groups and individuals together in one location to unite towards a carbon neutral future!!

Some of the highlights included bands like TV-2, Lars H.U.G, Mikael Simpson, Dúné, Camille Jones and Szhirley performing exclusive concerts throughout the week and inspiring all attendees to be part of the change. Inspiring transformation through the form of music art, what could be more LUX??

Another creative feature of this event was the ‘Innovation Camp.’ Designed within a town hall meeting format, this was a place where people could come and learn how to tap into their own inner genius of creativity. Cooperation from several companies and design students helped people work through design briefs, develop ideas and build small prototypes!! Collaborative action was definitely a feature we hope inspires many moving forward.

Lastly, this conference was all about bringing together like-minded individuals to help sustain a better future!! ‘Link UP’ was an exhibit that showcased fifteen up and comers, ranging from architects to designers, which allowed them to visually translate their sustainable vision for Copenhagen.

The (Link UP) exhibition participants have staged itineraries through central Copenhagen divided into five legs each telling the story of Copenhagen as a green, clean, easy and dense city by emphasizing and manipulating elements taken for granted knowledge that makes (or does not make) Copenhagen a sustainable city.—via Copenhagendesignweek.dk

The aim of this conference was to inspire sustainable design and a green future. By embodying the founding principles into the design of the conference it was quite powerful and thought provoking!! If you would like to learn more, make sure to visit the official site at Copenhagendesignweek.dk.
