Mastering the fine balance between aspirational and achievable fashion, Bec & Bridge’s signature style revolves around contoured lines and sleek silhouettes. The creative geniuses behind the Australian brand, Becky Cooper and Bridget Yorston, met at design school and shared a vision for style and impeccable details that ultimately took their friendship to a business partnership. Since the brand’s inception in 2003, the duo has developed strong design aesthetics that incorporate their personal signature style as well as influences from Australia’s fashion scene. Bec & Bridge speaks to the young, modern and chic.

Presented at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia in Sydney, Cooper and Yorston’s Spring 2012 collection was the epitome of the season with a blend of florals, graphic prints, fresh whites and graceful silhouettes. The brand’s ready-to-wear displayed a variety of relaxed suits, flowing dresses and skirt and pant ensembles. Making a declaration for spring whites, breezy pantsuits were styled with oversized blazers, draped wide-leg pants and abbreviated tanks; playful short-sleeve knit peplum tops combined with hot shorts; and sheer organza crafted provocative dresses and button-up blouses coupled with fitted pants.

The designers also teamed up the sheer organza with floral and graphic prints. Blue florals created an ombré effect on blouses, sleeveless tunics, oversized blazers and skirts with thigh-slits. Florals were also transformed into prints that were centered on easy tees and miniskirts. With a modern touch, graphic lines in aggregates of either purple and orange or light blue and navy crisscrossed over sheer tops, fitted knee-length sleeveless dresses and cascading button-up maxi dresses. The looks projected effortless style.

Bec & Bridge’s clean aesthetic introduced a new, modern twist to the spring classics of floral and white.
