Naomi Campbell Organizes Fashion Show for Haiti

Since the 7.0 earthquake hit Haiti about a month ago, there have been worldwide efforts to donate and aide those in need. And with NY Fashion Week kicking off, Naomi Campbell is taking advantage of this moment and hosting a special charity fundraiser runway show. The show is called, Fashion for Relief and takes place under the famed white tents February 12 in Bryant Park at 7PM.

To make it all happen, Naomi reached out to her supermodel and designer friends to help participate and contribute. Christy Turlington will be taking part as well as Marc Jacobs, who designed a limited Louis Vuitton bag for the occasion. The Louis Vuitton by Jacobs goes on sale March 15 on Net-a-Porter with all proceeds going to the CARE Organization. Also taking part in hosting the charity event, Sarah Ferguson and Popeater columnist, Rob Shuter. Stylist Rachel Zoe will participate and give back by styling all the genius looks. The biggest contribution though came from Charlotte Ronson. Ronson heard about the cause and immediately gave up her original time slot to show her collection. And to note, we’ll be seeing another side of the talented and lovely Ms. Ronson, as she’ll be walking in the show!

“Everyone else is trying to help Haiti, and we wanted to do our part on the fashion side of things,” Campbell said in a telephone interview from Paris. “The response has been overwhelming. No one has said no’ - which means a lot because it’s such a busy time with designers preparing their fall collections.”

The philanthropic Campbell also organized the first Fashion for Relief in 2005 for Hurricane Katrina Victims, where the event help raised $1 million. Cheers to Naomi and all her fabulous fashion friends for putting the art of charitable grace into action!

Now, who’s with me in heading over to Net-a-Porter on March 15 to scout out the limited edition Louis Vuitton by Marc Jacobs???
