Good news LUXies, Swiss chemicals manufacturer Clariant has just announced an eco-labeling initiative to help distinguish sustainable, green products from the rest. Clariant has just introduced ‘Ecotain’ to the world.
In an opportunity to help the personal care industry focus on creating eco-friendly, economical and sustainable formulations, Clariant has created ‘EcoTain’ labeling. The ‘EcoTain’ label will only be given to products that meet the standards of greener formulations. For example, products using all-natural ingredients, ‘APEO- and EO-free, as well as low toxicity’ formulas qualify for ‘Ecotain’ labels. This new distinction will ensure we’re buying products that are made utilizing sustainable practices as well as organic ingredients.
“Consumers are showing a high level of interest in natural cosmetics, associating green cosmetics not merely with the origin of the product but also with health and well-being implications, the manufacturing processes used, and an increasing concern for sustainable development,” said Elmar Bush global business director for Clariant’s personal care division.
This new label is meant to identify products that are both good for the environment and good for you. Now, this is a LUX-tastic approach to ensuring you are eco-ifying your beautify routine!

I think this is a step in the right direction. I would love to see more of how these “eco” notations are derived. They have organic food now, but a lot of people feel that it’s just a marketing ploy to charge a higher price - there’s not enough transparency to understand what really goes into it. I hope this cosmetic notation avoids those pitfalls.
Great idea, and I can’t wait for this to happen to hair products. So much fake stuff that’s bad for your hair goes into it!

That’s great. I think every manufacturer should consider the environment more. If you are good at manufacture or environment care, you can join Freelancer.com to get more projects. Use this code BUILDIT4ME to get more advantages. Good luck.
