Oprah Sets End Date for ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’

LUXies, this week Oprah announced a final airdate for her popular daytime show.

Yes, it seems our FAV talk show host, Oprah, will be leaving the airwaves as of September 11, 2011. The final episode will mark the 25th anniversary of the show that has signified the hope, cheer and connection we’ve all grown to love. From her book lists to her masterfully crafted giveaways, this was a show that truly transformed daytime television for the better.

“After much prayer and months of careful thought, I’ve decided the next season, season 25, will be the last season of ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show,’” the talk show host said on her television program Friday morning.

Now don’t fret LUXies, rumor has it this will not be the last of Oprah on air. She has her own cable television show in the works, which happens to bare the same name, ‘The Oprah Winfrey Network’ (OWN) and it’s set to premiere on January 2011.

In a press release on Friday, Ms. Winfrey’s production company, Harpo, signaled that Ms. Winfrey “plans to appear and participate in new programming for OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network.” The statement specified that she would appear on OWN “after production wraps” on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”

For the remainder of the 18-month journey of the original show, expect to see even more ways to be uplifted and to be entertained. If you’d like to check out the whole interview, click HERE.
