Sarah Jessica Parker upset over Halston oust
Bonnie Takhar, CEO of Halston since 2007, was let go on Tuesday.
Page Six reported that “Sex and the City” star Sarah Jessica Parker was visibly upset by the dismissal, crying in the office and pleading with the board to reconsider Takhar’s position in the company.
Sarah Jessica Parker has been the chief creative director of Halston since January. No stranger to the brand, she regularly wore it in her last “SATC” film and has often attended Halston’s runway shows.
Sources from the company told Page Six that the oust was due to creative differences and that Halston is seeking a new direction.
Apparently SJP was one of the last supporters of the late CEO.
“Sarah Jessica is a huge supporter of Bonnie’s, but it was time to change direction,” said Harvey Weinstein, a Halston board member. “It was the rest of the board that made the decision. No one was more steadfast to Bonnie than Sarah Jessica.”
No word yet on Takhar’s next move. With people such as Parker at her side, a new creative project is likely to come her way. What do you think?
