Steve Madden to Make Women’s Clothing Line

Steve Madden, fashion footwear mogul of the 21st century, has just announced a new extension of his brand into women’s clothing apparel that will hit retail shelves starting spring 2010.

In collaboration with L’Koral Industries, the Madden brand will offer a women’s ready-wear line aimed to tempt any LUX fashionista! Expect playful, flirty designs to capture the essence of the season with a variety of ‘pixie dresses, skirts, boyfriend shorts and lightweight jackets’.

Steve Madden, Founder, said, “I’m very excited about creating trend-right ready-to-wear for the Steve Madden customer. Jane Siskin [CEO of L’Koral] really understands my design aesthetic and the Steve Madden brand identity, making L’Koral the ideal partner for us. I’m really enjoying working with Jane to bring the Steve Madden sensibility to apparel.”

Expect the same level of appeal found in his footwear designs to be evident in this clothing line. The hardware detail is what helps put the brand’s stamp on this design collection, with exposed zippers and other bohemian flair inspiration.

So LUXies, we’d love to hear from you! What do you think of Steve Madden’s new brand extension? Is this something that you would put on your spring fashion wish list?
