Sadly, Fall 2012 Couture ended the other week, but there were so many unforgettable runway moments that we can’t stop thinking about it. And considering Haute Couture is high fashion at its best with extreme detail and extraordinary handwork, can you blame us? This Couture season was especially chock-full of excitement with Raf Simmons debuting at Dior, Donatella presenting Atelier for the second time and Karl Lagerfeld’s New Vintage.
To re-imagine the magic from Chanel, Valentino, Versace, Christian Dior and Giambattista Valli, LadyLUX’s own digital marketing coordinator and trend forecaster, Mariah Pringle, sketched them up with her artistic flair. Join us for the top five most stunning looks all LUX-ed up.
Karl Lagerfeld’s finale in Chanel’s Couture presentation was as angelic as wedding gowns get. The Cinderella was complete with feathers, floral appliqués and voluminous amounts of tulle.
Valentino’s blue gown was a decadent nineteenth century moment with intricate cutouts layered over sheer to create an illusion. It was a regal way to end the show.
In his first collection at Christian Dior – and Couture no less – Raf Simmons impressed the industry, especially with this golden yellow number. Long sleeve and with a mermaid silhouette, it’s a red carpet dream come true.
Giambattista Valli was all ruffles in this asymmetrical red dress. With ruffles across the neckline and constructing the skirt, it was grand and playful.
In Donatella’s second Atelier Versace line since 2004, she impressed the audience – and us – with high slits, hand beaded bodices and cutouts, often combined together as in this spectacular chartreuse flowing number. Major Versace moment.
