Tory Burch Expands Brand to Beauty and Fragrance

Tory Burch is expanding her vast empire and leading her namesake brand into the beauty industry. In September, the designer is launching several beauty items — fragrance, a color cosmetics collection, and a bath and body products line. It was Burch’s decision to team up with cosmetics powerhouse Estee Lauder to create her first fragrance. The designer is the latest to become apart of Estee Lauder’s designer fragrance division, according to WWD, and the partnership is expected to yield great success for both brands.

To create the fragrance, WWD reported that Burch said, “I loved going into the labs — there were scents and notes that I never thought would go in a fragrance.” The designer said she was going for a “tomboy meets feminine” scent and the end results are a mix of notes including grapefruit, pink pepper, peony, mimosa and cedarwood.

Launching along with the fragrance is a cosmetics capsule, streamlined for women on the go. It will include her signature shade of a pink-nude lipstick, a rosy pink lip and cheek tint, a bronzer-blush palette, and a retractable all-purpose face brush, according to WWD.

Burch said the inspiration for her cosmetics line came from her own morning routine because she appreciates the simplicity of a lip and cheek combination palette. The bath and body line will include body cream, body lotion, bath and shower gel.

The new products will be available online for presale at Bloomingdale's on September 6 and will be sold in some Bloomingdale’s stores beginning September 26. The new beauty items will also be available at Holt Renfrew, Tory Burch boutiques and on the Tory Burch website.
