LUX for good: Harrods auctions off designer crowns

Harrod’s of London, one of the world’s most famous department stores, is celebrating the city’s momentous year with a special auction. Four one-of-a-kind designer crowns created by Valentino, Roberto Cavalli, Paul Smith and Lanvin are available for bidding, with proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support. The crowns are currently in the luxury store’s stunning Diamond Jubilee window displays.

Each priceless crown is a collector’s item with the brand’s signature style reflected in the design. Lanvin’s is embellished and bejeweled; Paul Smith’s is covered in trinkets, buttons and British memorabilia; Valentino’s is classically elegant with touches of sparkle; and Roberto Cavalli’s is studded with precious crystal stones in eye-catching pastel and spring shades.

The auction is open for bidding until Aug. 5 and the winners will be announced on Aug. 8.
