La Mer and Oceana Partner To Save Oceans

Calling all Beach LUX-Enthusiasts! With summer well on its way, it is important to stop and appreciate the beautiful coast lines that line our beautiful country. Not many of us know that the state of our oceans health threaten the beaches we experience today. The underwater deterioration actually threatens the preservation of the traditions we have all shared on the beach. Whether it be building sand castles, just soaking in the sun or perhaps, body-surfing! So, in honor of the ‘World Oceans Day,’ the high-end skin care brand La Mer, and the leading international ocean advocacy non-profit foundation, Oceana, have chosen to collaborate. This partnership is geared at raising funds and awareness for our oceans, the often neglected environmental cause.

La Mer comes from a long-standing belief in the living sea, which is evident in their use of sea kelp for their skin care formulas. Just as healthy kelp is a by-product of healthy oceans, La Mer skin products pass on this health benefit to us through their products!

As a way to give back and help the effort to preserve the marine ecosystem, they have designed a limited-edition ‘World Oceans Day’ jar of Crème de la Mer. The even better news is that 100% of the proceeds from this crème will go to benefit the ocean habitat and protection initiatives of Oceana. The combination of giving back, preservation and collaboration is clearly LUX-inspiring!! wink

As a reminder, World Ocean Day is coming up on June 8, 2009. Although it is only one day to honor our oceans, we need to take an active approach preserving our precious marine life and keeping our swimming waters clean daily! If you would like 10 quick tips on how you could be a part of the change in preserving the health of our oceans and beaches, visit La Mer.
