Well, this concept of providing more incentive to make a difference is exactly what the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, R.I. will soon be offering those that attend any sporting event, monster truck jam or concert. With the help of Coca-Cola of course, who is sponsoring the machines and will be responsible for the automatic prizes.

This new fun and beneficial green approach to handling garbage won’t be done by hand. It’ll incorporate new recycling machines that will reward this inspired green action with a prize and a positive phrase! With every 100 recyclable item placed in the machine, the lucky recycler will receive an extra incentive!

This concept of auto-machines might be new to the U.S., but definitely not new to the rest of the world. There are more than 18,000 of them in Germany alone. They’re built by Tomra and have shown to be quite successful!

It helps to sort, recycle and track the refund process much more easily, ensuring the refund to the person recycling actually comes from the funds collected where the bottle was originally sold.

Overall, by utilizing these machines the Dunkin’ Donuts Center saves in hauling waste costs and it also helps to reward the positive behavior in caring for our garbage.

This ‘recognition technology’ definitely LUX-ifies the eco process of ensuring your bottle, can or plastic bottle, is completely cared for to benefit the environment.
